Christmas Day

Day 281
Were it not for the shepherds, there would have been no reception. And were it not for a group of stargazers, there would have been no gifts. - Max Lucado
Were it not for the birth of our Savior we would have no reason to celebrate. He is the gift of all gifts given to mankind, for hope, for healing, for redemption, and for the power of the resurrection to be with our loved ones again.
We went to Church this morning to find Cassidy and Josh, Dellany and Tremayne already there waiting for us. Jon and Brittany and the boys came later. Zac and Taylor were in Bountiful attending with her family. That was the first gift of Christmas for us. The Christmas music was beautiful and we remembered Amberly and her sweet voice, recognizing she was the one missing. Tears flowed.
We did have a wonderful Christmas Day, and with 29 plus one dog in attendance it was a little wild at times! Jason and Paula came with 8 children in tow, Dave's Mom was beyond delighted with the railing Zac made, and Nathan and CJ loved their Angry Birds blankets and toys. Cass's Josh just about had apoplexy about getting a Ute sweatshirt as an initiation to the family, and Paula received a Hawaii themed gift in honor of going there for their honeymoon, including a grass skirt and coconut shells! We all had fun watching everyone opening their gifts, the most meaningful being the sentimental ones reminding us of Amberly. Finally being able to give the boys their Forever Books, and watching their reactions was priceless for me. Family is priceless to me...a more precious gift to us now than ever.

I could have been there in the excitement and you wouldn't have known I was there! Sounds like a great time at the Carroll household!!
