Christmas Poem

We hope you like hearing from us every now and then,
As we report on how our year went, two thousand and ten.
With funerals and weddings and all that was in between.
Life keeps sending us new curves, or so it would seem.
My dear Mom passed away in April, for her, such a relief;
She was ready after a long fight, which helps with our grief.
The Arches tradition was enjoyed again, in May this year—
All our grandkids running the trails, and climbing with no fear!
Disneyland with the Rhodes family was definitely a hit;
Amberly’s friends made it possible, so we loved every minute!
Amberly is beating her cancer, a testament to our faith,
For we believe that “strength is renewed for them that wait”.
Jason, strong and supportive, works as hard as he plays;
Am’s hands are full with her “boys” in oh, so many ways!
Davin who now is eight, made the choice to be baptized,
The twins, Aaron and Collin – busy sixes – no surprise!
Nathan is three and a half and so cute and beguiling;
We love all our grandchildren, they help keep us smiling!
Brittany and Jon look to January for their new baby boy,
While 3 year-old CJ entertains us with his giggles and joy.
Cassidy and Danny find parenting kids that are now older,
A challenge, as their determined children just get bolder!
Cameron is twelve, Tyler is nine, Morgyn a girly seven,
With glowing reports from their school, we can thank heaven!
Dellany, busy with “her farm”, teaches gymnastics and cheer;
Tremayne, hard-working and loyal, still excels in his career.
Zachary, in September, took his lovely Taylor as his wife;
They are happily planning, making goals for their new life.
My brother Tim and sis Dorothy came too, with each spouse,
Which gave me the good incentive to spruce up the house!
The wedding day was beautiful, these pictures are evidence;
To have every child married is a tribute to providence.
We so love our growing family and like to have them visit,
Also, when they leave again we find the quiet so exquisite!
We so love Christmas time as well, a time for deep reflection,
A time to pause and contemplate our life, and its direction.
We’re so grateful for friends and family, for gifts of the heart;
For your love, and prayers of faith that helped us from the start.
We know that all is in His hands, we trust in His divine plan,
We are going forward “as if”, gladly doing all that we can.
