Sunday

Day 321 Today was a day of worry and prayer. We were ready to go to Church this morning when we got a call from Dellany, and left right away for the American Fork Hospital instead. Last night after getting home from Ephraim, she was in so much pain that she went in to be checked. The baby was fine, but the pain became unbearable. After an MRI they found a dark spot on her intestine, and were ready to do surgery, thinking that it could be ischemic (blocked and dying), especially with her history and previous surgeries on her intestines. Because of the baby they didn't want to do a CAT scan, and they were hoping that it was  either interitis or a kinked bowel, but they didn't want to take any chances. Her blood counts indicated an infection. Time was crucial. The doctors were thorough, and decided to transfer her to the IMC where there were more resources and specialists. As time went on, her pain  subsided, and her counts returned to normal. Thankfully, surgery wasn't needed. One huge blessing from this is that Dellany was given doctors who were very familiar with her condition and she will now be going to them. She will switch from her current OB doctor who is rarely available, to a High Risk OB/GYN and also a gastrointerologist who will work with him and be very on board with her care. This is a wonderful silver lining to a very cloudy day. I was grateful as well to witness Dave, Zac and Jon give Dellany a blessing of healing. Our prayers were answered and I'm so thankful!
