Day 19
Amberly's colonoscopy came back clean which is good news after all of the agony she went through to get it. The MRI results came back and Amberly's liver is enlarged, pressing against her other organs causing some of her distress. The cancer from her liver is in her lymph nodes which are also enlarged, but her kidneys, pancreas and spleen are clear. She has a small amount of fluid in her lungs and in her abdomen. This isn't the news we were hoping for. She had called the doctor's office and asked to have the results given to Jason rather than herself, and after filling out and faxing all of the forms to make this happen, the doctor calls and gives her the news anyway! Guess he hadn't gotten the memo! Communication problems must be prevalent there!
My sweet Amberly has been such a trooper through all of this...so strong, so willing to fight, to research and carry out the protocols that help with her fairly rare and hard to treat disease. She is fighting because of her 4 wonderful boys and her supportive and caring husband Jason. She is fighting because she has so much to offer the world...her artistic talent, her creativity, her compassionate spirit, and her intelligent and intuitive nature. Never was there a mother who could more clearly point out the nature, talents, likes or dislikes, and dreams of her children. Their scrapbooks have been her passion, her blog has been a work of art. Her family is her life.
We still believe a miracle is possible for her...for us. As grim as it seems, I know that if it is the Father's will, she can be healed. So we press forward with faith in the Savior and in his power to heal. We can do no less. Dave and I would move heaven and earth, if we could, to keep her with us and with her sweet little family. That's all we care about right now, all that we hope for.

Moms and their daughters have such a special bond! We continue to pray for Am!!!
She is in our thoughts & prayers daily. I believe, as you do, that miracles do happen through faith in the Savior. My heart aches for this trial you are enduring. Love you Carrolls!

Doctors=grrr! But I absolutely believe that our Heavenly Father directs our lives and that miracles happen every day (so who really cares about doctors anyway). I am praying for your miracle - and lots and lots of peace!
Barbara, do you remember that my sister died of cancer when she was 22? What you are experiencing brings all those trying times back, but it also brings back the sense of peace that permeated the trial and has never left, knowing that Heavenly Father's will is what is best, no matter the outcome. I truly can't imagine how parents cope with this kind of trial day after day. My prayers are with you and yours, dear friend.
